Dunno if you&#039;ve heard of Mark Sayers. He covers this kind of thing a fair bit, especially in relation to the broader idea of &#039;hyper-reality&#039; (the way we construct our own fake world based on the media, consumerism, etc) and Gen Y.

His new book, &#039;The Vertical Self&#039;, comes out next month.
