From the scriptures, are we ever commanded to evangelise?

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
- Matthew 9:35-38

Why do you ask?
Probably not…unless you take 1 pet 3:15 that way…
I think you could argue that the good news is a gift though and gifts are given to be used well. (e.g. Matt 25:14-30 – in regard to being entrusted with something of value)
Hope you’ve had a nice summer!
just reflecting on sermon from the weekend…
I have just been encouraged to think evangelism as more of an expectation of the Christian rather than a command.
It reminds me of the early church in Acts where we see their contagious attitude of being unable to keep themselves from speaking of the things they have seen and heard… and as they gathered, heard the word, devoted themselves to the fellowship etc… many were added to their number.
