Just recently I have stumbled over old emails and journals from when I first became a Christian. Most quotes have been taken directly from my journal or emails so sorry for the grammar – I’ve tried to keep them as true as possible to the stream of conscience that wrote it.
Its obvious as I read these that my idols were relationships… friends and boys! I really believed that you are only as great as the friends you have around you. I didn’t want to surrender them to God. Some things are just funny and some are insightful.
My hope is that this series of posts “18 Confessions” will deepen your empathy for those seeking out the faith and the internal wrestles of a new Christian or perhaps if you relate to the thoughts in these posts that you would consider the lasting satisfaction that can only be found in Jesus.
